Urban Rural Gothenburg and Mistra Urban Futures are represented.Urban Rural Gothenburg is represented at this year’s Tomorrow’s Food Travel (TFT) conference with three presentations: two oral and one poster. The conference deals with tourism linked to food and beverage. Session themes include seafood that you would not normally eat, aquaculture, and urban food culture (and production). The conference is held at the University of Gothenburg (GU), School of Business, Economics and Law, and is organized mainly by the Centre for Tourism (the research leg) and Visit Sweden (the corporate leg).

Tomorrow’s Food Travel (TFT), #TFTSWEDEN, conference welcomes scholars, practitioners and experts from all over the world. The conference offers an opportunity for academics and stakeholders in the food and beverage tourism field to meet to exchange their research, ideas, and experiences. The conference consists of an academic and a business/policymaker conference running in parallel. Some workshops and labs involving all attendees (practitioners, researchers, policymakers and tourism boards) will be held jointly, to allow participants to collectively elaborate on common relevant issues. Social events (dinners, coffee breaks, trips) will be shared together as well.

TFT is co-organized by the Centre for Tourism at the University of Gothenburg, West Sweden Tourism Board, Visit Sweden (the National Destination Management Organisation), and Gothenburg and Co. (Local Destination Management Organisation). The conference format enables academics in the field of food and beverage tourism to connect with peers sharing similar research interests, as well as with wider industry and policymaker stakeholders, favouring reciprocal knowledge and maximizing exchange and potential cooperation opportunities.

Urban Rural Gothenburg (Stadslandet) is an EU project run by Business Region Gothenburg in cooperation with the City of Gothenburg and Coompanion.
