Implementing the New Urban Agenda and The Sustainable Development Goals Cities’ interpretation, implementation and engagement with the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals form the basis for this Mistra Urban Futures project. It is partly based on the outcome of the 2015 pilot project where the then suggested targets and indicators for SDG 11 – the Urban Goal – were tested against the realities in a number of cities. Annual Lecture 2017 with Maruxa Cardama Mistra Urban Futures second Annual Lecture was given by Maruxa Cardama, Special advisor within the secretariat of Cities Alliance, Brussels. This years lecture focused on the topic of the Sustainable Development Goals set out by the UN. Having been centrally involved in global campaigns to secure an urban Sustainable Development Goal and the New Urban Agenda, Maruxa Cardama offered a unique perspective on these global developments and what they mean for individual cities on the ground.
