The first Green Campus Evaluation Standard in China approved

On November 4th in Beijing, China the first standard for green campuses in China was approved. The standard is called Green Campus Evaluation Standard and will be a vital part in the work executed by Mistra Urban Futures platform in Shanghai. The jury that approved the standard was organized by China Green Building Council and the Chinese Society for Urban Studies, and consisted of top experts from a variety of fields.

Prof. WU Siegfried Zhiqiang, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Science and Director of Mistra Urban Futures Local platform in Shanghai, is the chief author of the Standard. Tongji University and China Academy of Building Research was crucial partners in the work with developing the standard. The Standard is proposed to be firstly applied in the evaluation of the campuses of Tongji University and Chalmers University of Technology regarding energy consumption.
