Mikael Cullberg, at present the director of the Gothenburg Local Interaction Platform, is moving on to become the chief of staff at Länsstyrelsen. We are now looking for someone who could become his successor. The following text is a part of the complete advertisement, which can be found at Chalmers list of vacancies. The Gothenburg Local Interaction Platform (GOLIP) Director is responsible for the development and management of the platform, which is the largest of the Mistra Urban Futures’ platforms in size, budget and number of projects. The Director is responsible for the development of projects for Phase 2 from the Gothenburg platform, together with the local partners of the Gothenburg Consortium and other partners, thus strengthening and representing Mistra Urban Futures as an international arena for sustainable urban development.

She or he leads the partner Co-ordinators’ group and is responsible for budget and operational plans, monitors and reports results to the Centre and the Board of the Centre. She or he initiates and takes part of local fundraising, including research proposals.

The GOLIP Director interacts closely with other LIP directors to develop activities and international projects.

The GOLIP Director is a member of the management team, of the LIP Directors’ Group and an ex officio member of the Mistra Urban Futures Board.

The position includes international travels, not least to the other Mistra Urban Futures Local Interaction Platforms.

Information about the centre

Mistra Urban Futures is an international knowledge and research centre with the aim to contribute to the realization of ‘just cities’. The work is based on trans-disciplinary and co-production processes, with the engagement of researchers, practitioners and other stakeholders. Rather than focusing on particular fields of research or topics, the work of Mistra Urban Futures contextualises sustainable urban development around the dimensions accessible, green and fair.

The Gothenburg Local Interaction Platform (GOLIP) is the largest of the five platforms the Centre operates at the moment; new partnerships are planned to be established in Asia or Latin America within 1-2 years. The other platforms are located in Cape Town, Kisumu, Sheffield/Manchester and Skåne. A consortium of seven Gothenburg-based public institutions, universities and a research centre is a founding partner and principal funder of Mistra Urban Futures. The Centre is hosted by Chalmers University of Technology, one of the consortium members. The leadership of GOLIP as well as the Centre Secretariat is located at Chalmers, campus Johanneberg.
